On Tuesday, 20 October, the new Evelatus smart store was opened in the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre, with the participation of a Latvian hockey star. The new store is the largest of the 45 Evelatus stores in terms of space, and with the opening of the new store, Evelatus is focusing even more not only on selling mobile phones and accessories, but also a wider range of other smart devices – computers, tablets, TVs, e-scooters and smart home appliances.
The Akropole shopping and entertainment centre also previously housed an Evelatus store, but it was considerably smaller.

As Evelatus is an active supporter of sports and this season also an official partner of Dinamo Riga hockey club, the grand opening of the store and the ribbon cutting ceremony was also attended by a Latvian hockey star – legendary Latvian hockey goaltender Artūrs Irbe.

“The trend of expanding our stores has been evident for the last few years. We can no longer fit into small kiosks and counters as we used to. As our product range expands, the need for larger retail spaces is also growing,” explains Ketija Kočkina, Head of Marketing at Evelatus.
Evelatus currently offers 588 phone models, including 23 mobile phones with the Evelatus trademark. Evelatus also offers 7,855 mobile phone accessories, including 2,744 with the Evelatus trademark.

“In cooperation with the Riga Dynamo hockey club, the first hockey fans’ corner has been created, where team paraphernalia – jerseys, hockey pucks, hats and masks with the team emblem, as well as other accessories – are on display and available for sale. The new Evelatus store features a unique 2020 enhanced MiZone concept from Xiaomi, the world-renowned manufacturer of smartphones and smart devices. There is also a demonstration of the Evelatus brand’s own accessories in a new design,” explains Kelly Kochkina, Head of Marketing at Evelatus.
The new and spacious Evelatus store in the Akropole shopping and entertainment centre will also offer computers, tablets and accessories, as well as a wide range of smart home devices, including smart watches, TVs, vacuum cleaners, lamps and smart bulbs, sensors, kettles, hygrometers, etc. Special offers and discounts are expected during the opening month.

“We survived the first phase of the pandemic by retaining all our outlets. At the same time, we have intensified our online sales. Interest in mobile phones and accessories has not disappeared; on the contrary, with people working remotely and spending more time at home, there was even more interest in new phones, tablets, computers and household smart devices. Now we are building on all this,” says Kelly Kochkin.
Given the current situation regarding the spread of COVID-19, the opening event of the new store has been carried out in compliance with all necessary safety regulations.
